Second Week At The Seton Store
As I get more comfortable at the Seton Store, I am beginning to enjoy my time more and more. I have found myself looking forward to my shifts this week and enjoying stocking the shelves and helping customers. We spent a lot more time this week on the floor hanging up clothes, setting up Christmas decorations and items, and updating the sale section. The first picture I included was of a Christmas tree that me and Kaitlyn decorated together. We hung up ornaments that were for sale on it. I decided to include this picture because it represented the mark we are leaving on the Seton Store as volunteers. I am able to see more items that I have personally tagged or set out being sold and around the store, which is very cool because I can see first-hand the work that I am doing paying off.
The second picture I included is of the sale section. Every week, the items from four weeks ago get put into the sale section and get marked half off. I enjoyed setting this up because we had creative freedom to decorate it and arrange it as we pleased. We tried our hardest to make the sale section color coded and organized nicely. This was just another thing that, while it may seem minute, it was important to make appealing and nice for the customers. I have also had a few customer interactions and have been able to help customers find certain items, which is good because I feel like I am now comfortable enough to be able to help others. A customer interaction that I had today stuck with me. Before I got inside the store, a customer was heading back in with an empty cart, and I simply offered to bring it in with me because I was headed there anyways and to save her a trip inside. The lady was so appreciative and said thank you over and over again and told me I was so sweet for offering to help. While it was just a small act of service, she made me feel so appreciated and I was able to recognize how small actions can make a world of difference.
It's great to hear that you are getting more comfortable at the Seton Center and are establishing your place there. The pictures do provide concrete representation of your efforts and it's great to get a visual sense of the space you and Kaitlyn are in.
